Gabriel Galípolo, monetary policy director at the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB), is likely to be appointed as governor in August, a Brazilian newspaper has said.
Lauro Jardim, columnist for O Globo, wrote on Sunday (July 7) about the personnel change at the BCB. He did not state what his report was based on.
Galípolo’s possible appointment comes amid recent tensions between the Brazilian government and the BCB. Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recently attacked current BCB governor
