Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi named Hassan Abdallah to a second one-year term as acting governor of the central bank on August 17, according to media reports citing the official gazette.
Sisi appointed Abdallah as acting governor on August 18 last year, succeeding Tarek Amer, who resigned to take up a post in the president’s office. Amer was serving his second term as governor, and had held the post since November 2015.
