New Bank of Tanzania governor appointed

Emmanuel Tutuba was appointed as governor of the Bank of Tanzania on January 7, succeeding Florens Luoga, whose five-year term ends this month.

At the time of his appointment, Tutuba was the senior civil servant at the finance ministry. As permanent secretary to the treasury, Tutuba was also a member of the central bank’s board.

Tutuba was appointed to the permanent secretary post in April 2021. He also served as budget commissioner in the finance ministry. He holds an MBA from Mzumbe
