Somali governor says mobile money platforms play key role

Somalia’s mobile money platforms have played an important role in distributing humanitarian aid, the country’s central bank said on October 17.

Central Bank of Somalia governor Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi said the platforms have the potential to expand into credit services once more robust regulation is in place.
