Andrew Bailey to be next FSB chair – Central Banking



Klaas Knot will step down from organisation in June as his term at DNB also comes to an end

Andrew Bailey is to become the next chair of the Financial Stability Board (FSB).

The global regulatory body announced today (April 7) that the Bank of England governor would begin a three-year term on July 1, when Klaas Knot vacates the position and simultaneously steps down from his role as Netherlands Bank (DNB) governor.

Bailey will become the FSB’s fifth chair since it was formed in 2009 and the second from the BoE. Former BoE governor and current Canadian prime minister Mark Carney chaired
