Sanjay Malhotra, RBI
India’s government appointed Sanjay Malhotra as governor of the Reserve Bank of India, after choosing not to renew Shaktikanta Das’s term. Malhotra, who began his term on December 11, was previously revenue secretary in the ministry of finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a master’s in public policy from Princeton University.
