Haitian government replaces governor – Central Banking

The Haitian government appointed Ronald Gabriel governor of the central bank on October 8 as part of what appears to be a wider overhaul of its leadership.

Prime minister Ariel Henry’s government also named three other new members of the central bank’s five-member board, leaving only the deputy governor in place. Finance minister Michel Patrick Boisvert attended an inauguration ceremony at the Bank of Haiti on October 9.

The government does not appear to have made any public statement on why
