Cambodian governor’s daughter succeeds him

The National Bank of Cambodia

Chea Serey was appointed governor of the National Bank of Cambodia on July 29, the first woman to hold the position. She succeeds her father who has led the central bank since 1998.

Chea has worked at the central bank since 1999. She became deputy governor in March, having previously been director-general and assistant governor. She worked in banking supervision and then later the payments department.
