05/10/2022 –
Launch event at 09:30 am in Washington DC
The OECD will present a new Economic Survey of The United States on Wednesday 12 October 2022. The Survey takes a broad look at macroeconomic challenges in the United States with economic growth facing headwinds and global uncertainty, and as monetary policy continues to tighten in response to inflationary pressures. A special chapter takes an in-depth look at the U.S. middle class, analysing the pressures and growing risks faced by a group which has traditionally been a central driver of growth and a pillar of social stability.
OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann will present the Survey’s main findings and recommendations and take questions at an in-person event alongside White House Council of Economic Advisers Chair Cecilia Rouse and OECD Acting Chief Economist Alvaro Pereira from 09:30 am to 10:30 am at the OECD’s Washington Center (1776 I St NW, #450 Washington, DC 20006).
- Journalists can request an advance copy of the Survey under embargo, thereby undertaking to respect the OECD’s embargo procedures, by emailing embargo@oecd.org. Embargoed copies will be sent out a day before the launch.
For any other requests or information, journalists are invited to contact Miguel Rodriguez-Gorman in the OECD Washington Centre or the OECD Media Office in Paris. To get advance notification of other OECD reports and events, journalists can complete this short form.
Working with over 100 countries, the OECD is a global policy forum that promotes policies to preserve individual liberty and improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
