IDB fires president after accusations of abuse of power

The board of governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) removed the bank’s president, Mauricio Claver-Carone, on September 26.

The move came after the president failed to fully co-operate into an external investigation into charges that he had a relationship with a colleague he had allegedly favoured for promotion and pay rises.
