The Reserve Bank of Australia says it is setting up a new panel of private-sector economists to collect views on topics ranging from current economic challenges to forward guidance.
The RBA says the new panel will hold meetings at least twice a year. Its first meeting is scheduled for October 6.
It will also increase the number of attendees at meetings of an existing panel of academic economists. This panel will also meet at least twice a year, with its next meeting set for September 27.
