Central banks use a wide spectrum of print, broadcast and digital media to communicate with the wider public.
The 33 central banks that responded to the Communications Benchmarks 2022 employed on average about 10 distinct media formats to interact with external audiences.
All 33 central banks use press releases to communicate with the public, and all 33 hold press conferences. Of the 32 that provided figures, institutions averaged about 106 releases in 2021, or roughly two per week.
