After a New York judge blocked Citigroup from distributing interest payments on Argentina’s sovereign debt last week, the central bank is looking for other international banks to aid the country’s return to market.
Alejandro Vanoli, the Central Bank of Argentina’s governor, said the country will still seek to issue new bonds to repay a portion of its existing debt this year without drawing on its currency reserves, despite having defaulted on earlier debt payments.
