A working paper published by the Reserve Bank of India on August 10 highlights a host of challenges facing public debt management in the country, including a “narrow investor base”.
In Public debt management in India and related issues, L Lakshmanan and R Kausaliya note this could be rectified by encouraging greater participation from “mid-segment and retial investors”.
