The Bank of England has announced that all its electricity and natural gas will come from renewable sources from this month onwards.

In a statement on Twitter, the BoE said the decision was part of its strategy to reduce its carbon footprint. During 2018–19 the BoE’s total emissions of CO₂e per full-time equivalent staff member was 4.7 tonnes.
