The Swiss National Bank estimates its 2021 profits rose around 25% relative to 2020, in provisional calculations released today (January 7).
The central bank says it expects to register a profit of Sfr26 billion ($28.2 billion) in the 2021 financial year, up from Sfr20.9 billion in 2020.
The SNB made a small loss on its gold holdings, of Sfr0.1 billion, while its Swiss franc positions rose by more than Sfr1 billion. Foreign currency positions accounted for the bulk of the profit.
