Paypal looking to launch stock-trading platform

Paypal is exploring the possibility of launching a platform to trade individual stocks. The company has already rolled out the ability to trade cryptocurrencies last year. The move comes amid a retail trading boom, with more than 10 million new investors having entered the market in the first half of 2021. Dan Schulman, CEO of Paypal, has previously commented at the company’s investor day in February that the long-term vision for the company would include many more financial services, including “investment capabilities”.
