IMF negotiating new arrangement with São Tomé and Príncipe

The International Monetary Fund has said it is working towards a new arrangement with São Tomé and Príncipe following the country’s “sluggish” economic growth.

São Tomé completed an IMF programme last year, which the IMF described as producing “limited progress”. Its GDP grew by only 2.7% in 2018
