Switzerland’s large companies must follow a set of climate-reporting parameters, the Swiss Federal Council ruled on August 18.
The seven-member council is effectively the highest office of Switzerland’s federal government. The new reporting principles will be binding on corporations from the beginning of the 2023 fiscal year, the council said.
The council also instructed the federal department of finance to prepare a consultation draft including these parameters by the summer of 2022.
